How To Change Ps4 Age

We all make mistakes when setting up our PlayStation Network accounts on PS4 and PS5. Sometimes, that means using a cringe-worthy PSN ID and not being able to change it for years, and other times that means using a fake birthdate that accidentally ends up locking you out of content. Fear not. Although PlayStation doesn't officially allow you to change your age, there is a backdoor method. But it only works once.

Why change your age on the PS4 and PS5?

Some people simply enter an older age when they first set up their account, so there aren't the greatest reasons people want to change their age. It's mostly about updating it to the correct birthdate attached to the account. Content restrictions only matter if you have parental controls set up on the console or if a family member is using a sub-account.

When a sub-account is used for a younger family member, it restricts the content they can watch or play depending on their age, even limiting online multiplayer options in certain games. If you trust your kids or don't care what they play, you may want to be able to change their birthdate. Before taking steps to change your age on PS4 and PS5, be extremely careful, as you'll only get one try to do this per account.

  1. Go to account.sonymobile.com.

  2. Sign in using the same email and password as your PlayStation Network account.
  3. On the next page, enter the correct date of birth or whichever you'd like to use going forward.

  4. Check the box confirming you have read the privacy statement.
  5. Click Save.

This appears to be the only way to change your age on PlayStation, and you only get one chance at doing so because this step is meant to confirm the age you entered the first time. It just so happens that at this point, you can also completely change it. Unfortunately, once you confirm your age or change it altogether, the system does not allow you to change your birthdate a second time. So it's best to take extra caution that you don't screw it up and enter an incorrect date again.

If for some reason, this method doesn't work because it identifies the account as a minor, then your only option is to create an entirely new account if you absolutely need to have your birthdate correct. It's not an ideal solution, especially if you've purchased lots of games and other content on the account you'd be leaving behind, but it's what you have to work with.

Should you have that all taken care of, you'll probably want to start playing some of the best PS5 games that Sony has to offer. These include titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, No Man's Sky, Demon's Souls, and a lot more.

When you finally get that pesky birthdate you made up changed, you should (hopefully) now have unrestricted access to content. Treat yourself to that game the store said you were too young for.
